I read the most bizarre story the other day. It seems poodles are a very hot item in Japan and a company was selling the dogs for less than other companies. It was only when an actress showed a picture of her "dog" on television that she was informed that her pet was in fact a lamb!!! Apparently hundreds of others were scammed as well - I would've thought the bleating or the refusal to eat dogfood might've given things away *g*. Read about it here.

I kinda believed it because many city dwellers have so little exposure to animals. I remember when I was a child and a friend and I took her pet rabbit to the park and we were asked "What is it?" "Is it a skunk?" and other such questions. They apparently had no idea what a rabbit really looked like having probably seen only Bugs Bunny *g*
