Lost

I was over at Aintitcoolnews (http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=21591) and it has a big spoiler for "Lost". However I remember the spoilers the producers let slip last summer like that high school teacher was going to become a permanent cast member and then they blew him up so I'll believe this spoiler only if/when it happens.

Last Night

Last night I went to my local grocery store for a Yoplait Chocolate Mousse (yummy) but they were out of it. I decided to eat healthy and get a Columbo Blueberry (full of helpful phytochemicals) Yogurt but they didn't have it either. I finally settled for a Strawberry Yoplait. My best friend lives in Fargo where they have humongous supermarkets with every brand and variety that exists plus a post office and bakery. I was peeved at Campbell's for discontinuing their Tomato Bisque soup but I was maligning Campbells unnecessarily as they have it in Fargo. I'm suffering from supermarket-envy.

If I'd have had access to a computer then I would've gone to mock_the_stupid for a good laugh.

I watched "Nova" last night where they had a segment on goldfish surgery!! Admittedly it wasn't one of those tiny ones but one weighing a pound but still... I wonder if the vets treat tarantulas (just out of curiousity--I don't have one)? Check out the surgery at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sciencenow/3214/04.html

More Favorite Fics: Second Verse & Beautiful Broken (S/X)

Now comes a pair of favorite fics both by lit_gal. The first is "Second Verse" (http://www.litgal.org/ficbuffy.htm). I first read it at Moist & Delicious on February 16 the day after it was posted. I immediately fell in love with it. Like Athena popping out of Zeus, it appeared fully grown, all 15 glorious chapters of it. I rushed to rec it at Excessant and m-mSlashaholics and Stepaway which resulted in Lit Gal's joining Bloodclaim and writing more (at least I think that's what happened).
In my posts I wrote: It's wonderful. It goes AU even before BtVS begins though the events of BtVS S1-3 apparently took place just without Xander. Xander's family moved to LA and even there he is a demon magnet who is saved by Gunn and his gang. He joins in, holding much the same postion as he did in the Scoobies. Of course even in this AU his destiny is with Spike and slowly their relationship grows. This 15 chapter fic has great characterizations and best of all a plot.
The original story has grown into a Second Verse Universe with a sequel called "Musical Wars" and another one "Out of Tune" possible if her muse ever cooperates *tries to figure out how to bribe muse*
All of Lit Gal's fics are terrific but I must add that my absolute favorite is "Beautiful Broken" a stunning story of a Xander caught and broken by demon slavers who is bought by Spike and restored, not to what he was, but to something new. A very sub/dom, h/c fic and not to everyone's taste--the slavery depictions can be especially horrifying. There's a sequel "Beautiful Revenge" due out soon.
