Onesole

The other day I heard on the news about a company that has come up with a brilliant idea - it's called Onesole. You buy the sole and it comes with 3 interchangeable tops (2 chosen by the buyer) then additional tops can be purchased. This is especially great if you're travelling and don't want to bring a suitcase just for shoes (I saw that once on "Oprah") as you can bring a mix of tops to match your outfits. Unfortunately they're not inexpensive but I was thinking about buying one pair and keeping the shoes just for travelling so they wouldn't wear out too quickly. And wouldn't you know it - a woman thought it up!

Beyond Fanfic

On the front page of today's New York Times there is an article (here) which tells how Star Trek fans are creating, filming and posting online their own eps not just writing fanfic. According to the article, "as long as no one is profiting from the work, Paramount, which owns the rights to "Star Trek," has been tolerant." I can't help envisioning BtVS fans eventually doing the same thing (I've already seen  a video of the opening credits done with fans in place of the actors) plus 25 years down the road CGI may reach the point where you can't tell it's not the original actors. Imagine then being able to bring favorite fics to "life" - I have a little list *grin*.
