I've managed to yank my head out of the sand and am currently following these current affairs on your journal and also on mwrgana's as well as elsewhere on the 'net.
I'm aghast. Not surprised that it's happening, but at how many people on my FList have failed to either notice and/or comment on it all.
In a nutshell, that's part of the problem. We've been brainwashed to blindly accept whatever our elected representatives throw at us. We've lost our sense of self and our fight-or-flight impulses have denegraded to a standard of indifference and extreme apathy.
One wonders how long it will be until people who fight for freedom of speech are treated like inmates of an insane asylum and lambasted and/or repressed into silence completely, even in these so-called liberated shores of the USA and UK?
It makes me despair for the quality of life being created for our children and grandchildren, frankly.
