Another LJ Find

Well I've come across a very interesting lj-er by the name of  [personal profile] researchgrrrl, an archaeologist who wrote of one of her hilarious adventures here - think "Snakes on a Plane" taking place in the wee hours in a sleazy motel. She also wrote a very snarky post on the attitudes of the Romans re the Christians:

Basically, the Romans in general were all about absorbing cool bits from the people they conquered. They loved adding new gods and pantheons to their own beliefs. LOVED it. And, really, for the most part, they were totally cool about letting folks continue to practice their religion so long as those folks also acknowledged the godhood of the Emperor. Well, as it happened, the members of the newly-formed Christian religion were all, "There's only one God. And he's SO not the Emperor! We'll DIE before we acknowledge the Emperor as a god! DIE, do you hear?" And the Romans were pretty much, like, "Huh. All right. Since you insist." (read more here). LOL.

ETA: She's also a great fan of "Supernatural" and has written some marvelous SPN fics.
ETA 2: She also has a link to [profile] dear_dean, an lj community that's an advice column by "Dean Winchester" *g*
