Bye-Bye Xena - Hello Eris

Well in addition to Pluto being demoted to a dwarf planet, the object out there nicknamed Xena, that's even larger than Pluto, has officially been given the name Eris. Its moon, nicknamed Gabrielle, was given the name of Dysnomia, who was the daughter of Eris (read about it here). I, for one, agree with new classification of Pluto, otherwise we might have ended up with dozens of objects called planets as we find more objects out there.

ETA: Aha - naming Xena Eris now makes a bit more sense as the English translation of "Dysnomia", "lawlessness," echoes Lucy Lawless, the actress who starred in "Xena: Warrior Princess".
