Merry Christmas. I'm sick as a dog which is ironic as I'm taking care of a dog belonging to a friend who has has joined her son for a trip to South Africa and right now, if I recall her itinerary correctly, she is on safari. She left on her birthday (the 21st) and will return on the 1st or second.

Last Friday night I joined the NYCA at their annual solstice dinner at Les Sans Culottes where I ordered the Canard à l'orange (in honor of my family tradition) and the Créme caramel. The duck was so good and the meal so filling that I actually asked for a doggy bag though I'm mean and not sharing it with Emma the dog.

I had brunch with friends earlier today then went back to the apartment to nap - I've been doing a lot of that these past two days. Hopefully I'll be over this whatever-it-is by the 5th when I head for Needham. I don't have much of an appetite which is a heckuva way to lose weight.
 

The Mayans were wrong which I'm sure must depress the Rethuglicans as they actually will have to do something eventually to help our country. I'm sure a lot of people will remember their idiocy in 2014...may they become as unimportant as the Whigs *fingers crossed*
