Moonlight

I watched "Moonlight" last night and couldn't help thinking that it would've been far more interesting if Mick had actually turned Josh (who I think is cuter). This would've given the series another dimension as he would have a fledgling childe to look after and they both would be interested in Beth. Plus we'd get even more vampire lore according to the creators but no they killed off their hero's rival and as Beth will get over Josh's death there is very little to stand in the way of tru wuv.

I see you picked a new layout. Do you like it or do you still want to try for a custom layout?

No this one is temporary. I just needed to get used to a different Friend's Page layout.

Maybe next week we can start the lessons on customizing Smooth Sailing. I was reading Tabaqui's post about layout trouble and the consensus was that Smooth Sailing, Component and Flexible Squares were the easiest and least fussy layouts. I want to learn how to do it so once I master it (assuming I can) I can change the look as my whimsy takes me.

Except that Mick's paternal feeling for Beth is gonna hold him off I think for a looooong time. That among other things, which are only apparent if you've watched all the eps and not just last night's.

I've been watching "Moonlight" since the series began as I needed a vampire-fix now that BTVS and AtS are no more (I'm not counting the comics).

I'm just afraid it will end up like "Moonlighting" and "The X-Files" with the writers forever tantalizing us with UST that if ever consummated takes all the zing out of it - it's sort of one note plotline. Turning Josh would've kept the final outcome in doubt and given the writers (and us) more plot twists.

I realize that a male siring a male probably wouldn't do (even though in a previous ep of "Moonlight" a male vampire sired a male doctor who then when berserk). This was the reason that though Spike called Angel sire in "School Hard" it was later revealed that Drusilla was the one who turned William.

I actually think that there will be a lot that will keep them apart. I think Mick's guilt and Beth's guilt will be the wedge for this season any way. At first I thought maybe they might comfort each other but I re-watched it and think that guilt will be a wedge between them for a little bit.

I too had hoped that Mick would change Josh but then IM glad he didn't as Vampirism changes the person and even Mick said he did things after he was changed that he regretted. I think it would have ended up destroying Josh and making Beth think twice about Mick in the long run.

It's the inevitability that bores me. There's no suspense - we know (assuming the show lasts long enough) that Mick and Beth will get together so the only question is how many obstacles can the writers come up with. This time it's her anger about Mick's refusal to turn Josh. He knows he did the right thing so, except for the fact that it hurt Beth, he's ok with his decision. Beth will eventually accept that it was the gangster who killed Josh and that it was right not to turn him. Once that is dealt with what will the next hurdle be and the one after that and the one after that?

Oh well we'll see, WGA permitting, if the writers can find other ways to liven things up plotwise.

Well IM sure Beth's guilt over her feels for Mick that were standing between her and Josh will keep her from Mick for a bit.
I think that Mick will always be the protector but he will feel guilty for hurting beth and causing her the pain she is in even though he knows his decision was true.

Beth will eventually forgive Mick and herself and things will maybe look like they will heat up but like you said probably an obstacle will come up again.

The shame of it is, that its not even a good Tease like in Bones the Booth Temperance tease is hot and keeps you wanting more and more... begging for them to get together but the Mick and Beth tease is lame. The episode that made me excited about them was the one with the black ice where Beth took the vampire blood and went to Mick's. That was a hot episode for the two characters but since then blah....

I find myself not really wanting them together until they actually deserve my fandom love.

I find myself not really wanting them together until they actually deserve my fandom love I keep hoping but currently they're too blah (actors and characters) for me to get interested. I actually liked Jordan Belfi more than Alex O'Loughlin and think maybe he should've played Mick. Oh well with this writers' strike who knows what will happen.
