WTH?

Last night I was watching "Mystery" on PBS. It was an episode of Agatha Christie's Miss Marple called "By the Pricking of My Thumbs" which was a crossover with Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. I didn't remember reading such a story so today I googled and found that BtPoMT was a T&TB novel that had been turned into a Miss Marple episode by sending Tommy away on a mission and replacing him with Miss Marple. Have they run out of Marple stories to film so they had to appropriate a T&TB story? Tommy was played by Anthony Andrews and I didn't recognize him - has it really been 32 years since I first set eyes on him in "The Pallisers"?
I must say I consider Joan Hickson's interpretation to be the definitve one as Geraldine McEwan is listing toward Margaret Rutherford's version and last week's "Sleeping Murder" veered considerably from the book. My all-time favorite episode was Hickson's "Nemesis" where she has a glorious confrontation with the wonderful Margaret Tyzack. Her version of "Sleeping Murder" was also rather good.

A scary thought - fifty years from now will they re-make BtVS with a new cast?
