There's an interesting article here about a pregnant dolphin at a marine mammal rehabilitation facility named Castaway who was discovered to be deaf. They opened a "chat line" to a nearby dolphin research facility hoping to teach a deaf dolphin's unborn calf the sounds of dolphin communication. Human beings can be so thoughtful and kind - if we could just encourage the spread of this kind of mentality *sigh*
