Odds and Ends
Aug. 6th, 2008 11:53 amOn Saturday and Tuesday I again rented a bicycle and rode the 6-mile loop in Central Park. I'm so pleased that I can handle it without feeling fatigued or sore the day after especially as I didn't dismount once to walk up a hill. I think my body is in shape for my upcoming trip to Fargo as we often go hiking. The only problem arose on Saturday when, as I was switching gears, the chain slipped. As we struggled to reattach it, getting our hands nice and greasy, a good Samaritan passed by and easily reattached it. I still have a spot grease under one fingernail that I can't get to and will just have to let it grow out.
Did you hear about the true case of a "Home Alone" incident? An ultra-Orthodox couple in Israel left their 3-year old daughter behind at the airport when they boarded their flight to Paris with their four sons!! They remained unaware they had boarded the aircraft with only four children instead of five until they were informed by cabin staff after 40 minutes in the air. What kind of parents are they that they would forget to check they had all their children? Was it because she was a girl and not as important as their sons? Read about it here.
For anyone out there having trouble with trolls I'd like to present this:

Icons of the Season
Nov. 28th, 2007 02:27 pmI am making a small post of seasonal icons - yes we are on the homestretch to Xmas and the new year (where did the year go?). Some are duplicates from last year (here). As always I'll be happy to personalize an icon, add a caption or make one to order.

More Icons
Mar. 2nd, 2007 04:20 pmYesterday I came across this cute story of a couple of tiger cubs and orangutan babies who were friends. I love these kind of stories and I made an icon from one of the photos. When I put it into my Photobucket account I realized I had a bunch of animal icons that I hadn't gotten around to posting so here they are:

If anyone wants a caption added or personalized I'll be happy to do it.

Oh yes I want to add that there was an article on David Boreanaz in today's New York Times. Read it here.

More Fabulous Female Icons
Dec. 2nd, 2006 02:00 pmI've made another small batch of icons featuring the females of the species of various types:

I find there's an enormous sense of freedom and power in being able to icon images I see on the web. I now look at photo or picture in a new manner, always asking myself if it will make a good icon. CM - thank you again for helping me figure out how to use MSPaint.
ETA: Made changes to one for Ditto

Sep. 28th, 2006 03:52 pmWhen not creating cute animal icons I've been finding all sorts of interesting females - some real, some created - to turn into icons. Here they are:

Animal Icons
Sep. 27th, 2006 04:33 pmFortunately I have a bit more time on the computer this week so I've been making icons. Here are a bunch of cute and/or interesting animal icons:

Does anyone out there know how I could, using MS Paint, write my name in an icon using one color for some letters and another color for the rest?

Broadway Icons
Sep. 20th, 2006 03:27 pmI've been having a bit of trouble getting on a computer of late so I'm taking advantage of the fact that I'll have more access the next few days. Therefore there'll be a number of updates starting with a trio of icons I made featuring the Broadway shows of "Wicked", "The Lion King" and the upcoming "Mary Poppins":
