Ebony and Ivory

Today I came across the story of Kylie Hodgson of Nottingham, England who gave birth to fraternal twins last year. What makes the story so unusual is that both Kylie and her partner Remi Horder have black fathers and white mothers and one of her twins, Kian, is white and the other, Remee, is black! (read story here) I can't help wondering if things will be easier for Kian because she appears white and that one day Remee might come to resent her. When I was a little girl I knew a pair of identical twins one of whose forearm and hand were deformed (to me it looked like the damage done by thalidomide) while the other one appeared normal. I couldn't help wondering if the damaged one wouldn't grow to resent her twin for being whole. When you truly think about it the development from sperm and egg to baby is truly astonishing with all its possible variables.

The Twisted Fates series by toobusy2write/Kat B. It's an alternate BtVS series where it's Spike who was souled and so it's he who comes to Sunnydale to help the Slayer and falls for Xander.


Working Man by cleeaz/Cindy Lee. This is a post-Chosen fic where Xander leaves the survivors and establishes his own wood-working business before running into Spike again. Nice to see him standing on his own.

Dear Heart by Star Swati. Someone (not Wesley) steals Connor to save him from Sahjahn and places him in the arms of Mrs Harris so that he grows up to be our Xander who eventually falls for Spike, making Angel Spike's father-in-law. A sweet tale which would've made a very neat twist to canon had ME thought of it and been able to do crossovers.
