I was just over at Stepaway from My Xander. The archive is still out-of-service and the story rec page is still being inundated with spam. Just when they clean up the old spam posts about online poker and real estate we now get spam about online dating. I am so furious at the spammers who are just proving what total scum they are and are ruining what was such a nice place for us fans to share our favorite fics with others--grr argh. I worry that the people behind SAFMX will just give up and take it down. I'd love to sic one of Anya's cohorts on those *^%#$@* spammers--I wish... *wonders if somewhere important pieces are falling off bodies*

ETA--I just received an e-mail from Cath the Rec Forum Moderator:

"IF you have visited the SAFMX Rec Forum in the past month you may have noticed that we have been under attack. I am waiting for a response from the SAFMX site manager as to what steps can be taken to stop this. I have tried to keep up with deleting the posts as they are made but it is becoming impossible.
Although I hate to do it, I am looking for a way to lock down posting to any one who is not a member. Guests could still cruise the site but would not be able to post. I can think of no other way to break this cycle. Banning these idiots has been made almost impossible because they are not members and they are using multiple IP addresses.
Thanks for your patience."

I was reading about Pope Benedict's latest proclamation (read here). He believes "that embryos developed for in vitro fertilization deserve the same right to life as fetuses, children and adults — and that that right extends to embryos even before they are transferred into a woman's womb." that right? The embryos need a woman's womb to develop which happens to be attached to a woman with her own right to life. Unless a woman chooses to carry a fetus to term (always with the possibility of medical complications and death) those embryos are doomed. What is the pope proposing--forced implantations?

He goes on: "The love of God doesn't make any difference between the newly conceived, still in the womb of his mother, and the baby, or the young person, or the mature man or the old man," he said. "He doesn't make the distinction because in each of them he sees his own image and similarity." So God is just a bunch of cells floating around up there somewhere?

ETA: Just found this site RoeDepot: Where women take control of their reproductive rights

I've known about this blog for some time and really enjoy this Moslem's take on things. I just wish he was the norm and not the apparent abberation (though there probably are many more like him who either can't or won't speak up). Go here.
