shakatany: Sleeping woman plus moon and stars (scholarcat)

Harry Knowles in his blog has pointed out a rather disturbing thing about Claire, the cheerleader who must be saved in "Heroes". She has the ability to regenerate from injuries and since the ability manifested itself before she was "deflowered" she is now a renewable virgin like Draupadi and the 72 virgins who await each Moslem martyr in paradise. Personally I think it would be a pain in the ...

I googled to find renewable virgins and came across Faith Freedom, "a grassroots movement of ex-Muslims. Its goals are to (a) unmask Islam and show that it is an imperialistic ideology akin to Nazism but disguised as religion and (b) to help Muslims leave it, end this culture of hate caused by their "us" vs. "them" ethos and embrace the human race in amity."

Oh I just love googling - the things you can find on the web!

I read in today's NY Times that Ernestine Gilbreth passed on at the age of 98! She was the co-author, along with her brother Frank, of Cheaper by the Dozen and its sequel Belles on Their Toes which dealt with their childhood in a family of 12 children whose parents were pioneer efficiency experts. The books were LOL funny and were turned into movies back in the 50s starring Myrna Loy. Those movies were fair adaptations unlike the recent Steve Martin movies which bear little resemblance to the books and should be ignored by all who love the originals.
