There are Vulcans Among Us

Came across this account of a man being operated on and the surgeons discovered he had dark green blood!! It turns out he has something called Sulfhaemoglobinaemia where sulfur atoms become incorporated into haemoglobin molecules. I immediately wondered what would happen if a vampire fed on such a person - would it be nutritious for the vampire and/or palatable? I'm such a vampire dork *g*

Where Have all the (Flower) Children Gone?

I was walking down the street today and I spotted a man wearing a t-shirt that said "Yesterday's flower children are today's bloomin' idiots". This brought home the fact that Bush and Cheney and others who have sent us to war once did their darnedest to avoid serving in Viet Nam when they were young men yet they now have no difficulty sending other young men to be injured or killed. And because of sheer numbers there must have been many ex-flower children/baby boomers, who long ago sang about "peace, love, freedom, happiness", who gave Dubya and company their support - truly bloomin' idiots. Of course there were a few baby boomers (like me) who kept their ideals and retained their sanity, recognizing this craziness for what it was and it appears that slowly we are regaining our lost ideals though far to late for our country and all those young lives who suffered and died for this administration's idiocy.
