Say What???

Yesterday I took out from the library a book called Many Bloody Returns edited by Charlaine Harris and Toni L.P. Kelner. It's an anthology of vampire stories having to do something with birthdays. The dedication goes like this: This is dedicated to Joss Whedon, who may never read it, and his enthusiastic fans known as the Buffybuds, who will. Buffybuds? Known by whom - the editors? Nobody ever told me I'm a Buffybud. Is this a common term elsewhere in the BtVS fandom because I've never heard it before staying, as I do, mainly in this little Spander-corner of the Buffyverse-on-the-Web.
