Odds & Ends
Nov. 29th, 2007 02:02 pmWell according to
andpuff, Friday's airing of "Blood Ties" will be the final one :( However there are two more episodes which will be seen only online - one this Friday and the last to be posted the following Friday. I just hope Lifetime gets it act together as I missed episode 2.6 and it still hasn't been posted though eps 2.5 and 2.7 are up. Lifetime always seemed to be a strange channel for a vampire mystery series and I think they mishandled it with little exposure and a switch in timeslots. Oh well as far as I know "Moonlight" is doing ok so I can get a bit of my vampirefix there.
This week's People magazine (December 3) has a 2-page article on BtVS and where-the-actors-are-now with no mention of James Marsters! We find out that Anthony Head will be in the upcoming "Sweeney Todd" movie and that Sarah Michelle Gellar has legally become a Prinze though she'll keep her maiden name as her stage name, avoiding the stupidity of actresses like Patty Duke who used Astin for a while until the divorce. A couple of issues ago Nathan Fillion of "Firefly" was included in their sexy men issue but I think he's the only Whedon-show actor to ever be included - these people are blind not to see the hotness of actors like James Marsters and Alexis Denisoff.
I just read a fascinating article in the Boston Globe on how the "Golden Compass" books aren't atheistic just anti-religious establishment. It makes me want to read the trilogy.......when I have the time *sigh*
For you lovers of the myriad joys of the English language I found a webpage called Compendium of Lost Words which lists over 400 of the rarest modern English words - in fact, ones that have been entirely absent from the Internet, including all online dictionaries, until now. The page is part of a website called "The Phrontistery" (a thinking place) and is full of other interesting pages and links related to the English language. I'm off to go exploring *g*
