Twenty years ago in the movie "Wall Street", Gordon Gekko (played by Michaael Douglas) uttered the phrase "greed is good" and it seems that since then people have felt free to use that as their motto. The other day I was watching a show on E! called something like "Forbes 20 Billionaire Heiresses" where I learn the top heiress Vanisha Mittal's dad had given her a $60 million wedding in Paris with 1,000 of their closest friends attending (could anyone really have 1,000 close firends?). Later that evening I saw an ad for some charity that featured a young African orphan trying to raise his younger brother by himself and letting the younger one sleep on the thicker piece of plastic because it was warmer. There is something so wrong with this world and with capitalism as it's now practiced. Greed in NOT good.
