Media Matters
Dec. 22nd, 2007 02:08 pmI just watched trailers for the new Doctor Who Xmas special and it looks fantastic (lucky Brits who get to see it Xmas day *grumbles*). The Doctor ends up on a space-going Titanic that appears to be an update of the ships the Eternals used to play on crossed with the ship-hotel from "The Fifth Element". The production values are high and Kylie Minogue guest stars. The links to the trailers are on this webpage which also has a link to the trailer of the "Torchwood" S2 premiere episode which guest stars our James Marsters.
Here's a list of The Ten Best Movie Destructions of New York City with "Independence Day" leading the pack. I think the only city which has been destroyed more often is Tokyo with all those rampaging monsters. As I live in NYC I find a list like this to be a bit unnerving.
Way back when I started reading science fiction one of my favorite authors was Alan E. Nourse. There is now a download available here for his "Gold in the Sky". I plan to read it when I can find the time - too many books, to little time *sigh*
I found a new blog written by two professional editors, one of whom is out
anaross, with helpful information for aspiring writers.
Lastly I came across another fic-finding community this one called
btvs_ficfind which may come in useful someday.
