Jul. 14th, 2008 11:38 am I was riding the subway yesterday and, as I am addicted to the printed word, I was reading the ads when I came across this one. I really couldn't figure out WTH was going on until I googled and found out it was a viral ad for Absolute Vodka. The things Madison Avenue comes up with *g*
Speaking about weird ad campigns: There's a church in Oklahoma that was planning on giving away a semiautomatic assault rifle to some teenager who'd attend their weekend youth conference!!! A church!! A video on the church Web site shows the shooting competition from last year’s conference. A gun giveaway was part of the event last year. They thought it was such a wonderful idea they made it part of their ad campaign until wiser heads prevailed and they cancelled... for this year but having spent $800, will give it away next year.
Came across this Quote of the Day: Nothing is so hard to understand as that there are human beings in this world besides one's self and one's own set. (William Dean Howells) Word. I feel that's especially true of Dubya and his cronies.
