Yes We Can

 YES WE CAN AND WE DID!!!

The Obamas are certainly "moving on up" and, vicariously, so are many Americans. In the crowds last night cheering for Obama, I saw the true colors of America, not that sea of white that was in the crowd listening (and booing) McCain as he conceded to Obama. We now have a 44th president who will lead us into the 21st century, not that holdover from the century of the World Wars whose first response always seemed to be aggression :( Obama was so beautifully eloquent and gracious in his victory speech though practically anyone would have been an improvement over his predecessor. I loved his story of the 106 year-old woman who has seen so many changes through the years (and which probably reminded him of his own maternal grandmother who unfortunately did not live to see this day). I believe we are at the start of something momentous.

So much for the neocons' dream nightmare of a permanent Republican majority. The only blot on last night was the apparent passing of Proposition 8 in California (though I believe not every vote has been tallied yet). Now let us work to get a Democratic woman into the Oval Office in 2016!
