anaross has recently finished Ransomed her post-Chosen fic. She is a truly gifted writer though not of the Spander-persuasion. I've also read her wonderful Long Day's Journey, another post-Chosen fic, and Colors, her Serenity/Firefly crossover which I may have mentioned before. Play It Again, Sam
Jan. 17th, 2006 01:32 pmJust finished reading a delightful BtVS/AtS fic called Play It Again, Sam by elisi. It takes place in AtS S5 between "TGiQ" and "Power Play" when Riley and Sam Finn turn up in LA and there is reminiscing all round. I especially like Spike's take on his adventures/affair with Buffy.

This morning some news show had a segment on Seinfeld's Festivus at http://www.festivusbook.com. Just what we need--another mid-winter holiday. Let's startup the Saturnalia again while we're at it *more grumbles*.
On a brighter notekaygrr has written "Neon Hunting" another Xander/cop crossover this time with CSI's Warrick. Her previous fic was "City Hunting" (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kaygrr/109714.html), a L&O:SVU crossover with Stabler written over a year ago. I like this mature, competent Xander.

One that sticks in my memory is Eric Jablow's "Chaos & Disorder" at http://members.cox.net/ejablow/mmos/chaos.html which crossed the BtVSverse with L&O--what happened when those folks encountered vampires and put one on trial. There's also Sajinn's marvelous "Soft Science" at http://sajinn.com/misc/SOFTSCI.html where the investigators from Las Vegas head for Sunnydale then the Scoobies go to Las Vegas and Salustra's "A Study in White" at http://www.salustra.vague-disclaimer.org/solo_fic/studyinwhite.html which has Spike in Las Vegas with Grissom. Good reads all.

I was reading nandibble's latest chapter of "Blood Price" when I came across this quote "the still center of the turning world" (Donne, Wordsworth, Elliot??). I just thought the imagery it invoked was so lovely. I collect quotes that are meaningful to me but I've been doing it for years and it's rare to find something new these days. I'm getting jaded *sigh*
