You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

Remember that there's been a lot of hacking here on LJ recently? Well it could be a precursor of what's been happening on Facebook - those "Nigerian" scammers are trying something new since the word went out on that scam and are now hijacking other people's Facebook accounts to ask for "emergency" money. I don't know if they would come here as LJ is less visible then Facebook or MySpace but since I know some of you are on Facebook and it could happen here, it doesn't hurt to be aware that this devious ploy is out there.

Your result for What Your Taste in Art Says About You Test...

Traditional, Vibrant, and Tasteful

26 Islamic, 19 Impressionist, 26 Ukiyo-e, -26 Cubist, -35 Abstract and 15 Renaissance!

Islamic art is developed from many sources: Roman, Early Christian, and Byzantine styles were taken over in early Islamic architecture; the architecture and decorative art of pre-Islamic Persia was of paramount significance; Central Asian styles were brought in with various nomadic incursions; and Chinese influences . Islamic art uses many geometical floral or vegetable designs in a repetitive pattern known as arabesque. It is used to symbolize the transcendent, indivisible and infinite nature of Allah.

People that like Islamic art tend to be more traditional people that appreciate keeping patterns that they learned and experienced from their past. It is not to say that they are not innovative personalities, they just do not like to let go of their roots. They like to put new ideas into details and make certain that they will work before sharing them with others. Failure is not something they like to think about because they are more interested in being successful and appreciated for their intelligence. These people can also be or like elaborate things in their life as long as they are tasteful. They tend to prefer geometric patterns and vibrant colors.

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPC - The Daydreamer

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

I'm very glad that I'm not too herdlike - OTH liking vampires is herdlike? I am wary of strangers and I guess my writing style is conventional so it's pretty accurate. For the second meme - I am very much a daydreamer. What are you?

Your result for The Mythological Goddess Test...

Neit, who was said to have emerged from the primeval water to create the world, is one of the oldest Egyptian Goddesses. Although the Egyptians believed that Neit was of both a masculine and feminine nature, as she was self-produced, she was usually depicted as a woman.

The Egyptians believed her to be an ancient and wise Goddess, to whom the other Gods came if they could not resolve their own disputes.
Besides being the ruler of the lower Heavens, she was also the patron to hunt and warfare, domestic arts, mysticism, as well as women and marriage. All this makes her some kind of a “jane-of-all-trades.”

As a deity, Neit is often shown carrying a bow and arrows, linking her to hunting and warfare, other times she is shown with a sceptre, symbol of rule and power, and the ankh, symbol of life.

Well at least she's Egyptian - I wonder how I could fix the quiz to end up with Bast?

This isn't a true meme but I found a Vampire Name Generator and this is what Shakatany (I gave myself the last name of Lee) turns into:
The Great Archives determine you to have gone by the identity:
Sorceress of Angels
Known in some parts of the world as:
Kiku of The Tormented
The Great Archives Record:
A soul in torment and tumult - hell of their own making!

While at the site you can get a fairy name too:

Your fairy is called Feather Hailtree
She is a protector of the lonely.
She lives in high places where the clouds meet the earth.
She is only seen when the first leaves fall from the trees.
She wears pale blue like the sky. She has cheery turquoise wings like a butterfly.

Robin McKinley, one of my favorite authors, used to be on lj as [ profile] robinmckinley. She's abandoned it in favor of a blog somewhere else that has an RSS feed so I added that to my flist as [ profile] robinmckinleyrs (I didn't know what I was doing - maybe I should've titled it Robin_McKinley but I'm new at all this *sigh*). For a pro she does write a lot in her blog, so much so that I wonder when she actually does work on her books which I adore. I can't wait for September when her next one, Chalice, comes out.

I am a Freecell addict (I have an 80% win record) so imagine how surprised I was to read that it was invented in the late 60s by a 10 year-old boy!!! Read more about it in Solitaire-y Confinement.

Joss Whedon spent the writer's strike creating another musical called "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" for the Web starring Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion. Read more about it here. I wonder if it will be as good as "Once More With Feeling". At least I look forward to it more than "Dollhouse" his latest series.

(I confess it took me about 3 tries to get a passing grade *sigh*)
