When I posted my rec for the fics of the late Nan Dibble the other day and read the comments here and at
slaymesoftlyI came to the conclusion that there ought to be a memorial community established so when a fan and/or fanwriter passes on a friend could post the news there and we could all contribute our thoughts and somehow commemorate the contributions of the departed keeping their flame alive so to speak. This internet thing is so new that there haven't been many (any?) traditions established as to what to do when a webfriend passes on. We only knew each other through the internet - most of us haven't met in person and are far away from any real life graveside service but there should be some place of remembrance in cyberspace (or maybe there is and I just don't know about it). Any thoughts on the subject?

I think starting something like that would be a great undertaking but well worth the time and effort.
