Esmeralda is Dead

I just found out that Alice Ghostley has passed on. She was this incredible character actor who played many roles including that of the ditzy maid Esmeralda on "Bewitched". I feel like we are near the end of a grand tradition as I can't think of many actors these days who can be considered character actors or is it that I just don't watch enough TV and movies.
