My Criminal Mind

shakatanyLast night I watched "Criminal Minds" (which I rarely do) because Garcia was shot (oh the drama) and Nicholas Brendon was in it. He appeared as Kevin Lynch, your typical computer geek with long, unkempt hair and glasses, who was almost as good as Garcia with computers (and sincerely acknowledged that she was better). He wasn't real-life stupid so when he saw the villain at BAU HQ, he cleverly sent word to Garcia, thereby alerting the team to the danger and saving the day. He had fallen in love with her programming and comp skills and there were hints that they would hit it off. It would be nice if he showed up occasionally but the show isn't the type to delve too much in the private lives of its characters. It wasn't until towards the end that I said to myself isn't that Graham Miller? When I watched the tape again (I was helping a friend prepare for Thanksgiving at the time) I saw Bailey Chase in the credits. I don't know how much screentime Xander and Miller had in BtVS S4 but I couldn't help wondering if NB and BC did some reminiscing about old times.
Speaking of "Criminal Minds", Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) has departed to find the meaning of life or something. Over on "CSI", Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) has left for much the same reason. I picture the two of them meeting somewhere, then travelling together and, like the old Simon & Garfunkel song "America" goes, I envision Jason is singing, "Sara, I'm lost, I said, though I knew she was sleeping, I'm empty and aching and I don't know why." It could be the basis for another show, "The Forensic Investigator and the Criminologist" (though obviously much work needs to be done with the title*g*).
It just occured to me that someone could write a crossover story where Kevin Lynch, FBI computer expert, meets Detective Grant Mars (Keith Mars' cousin?).
