shakatany: Sleeping woman plus moon and stars (scholarcat)

I've been following the story of a little black kitten named Georgia who leaped out of her carrier when it accidentally opened then ran onto the subway tracks and was lost there for 25 days before finally being rescued last week. Sometimes Bast looks after her own.

I saved this Rose is Rose cartoon sometime ago and thought this might be the right place to post it:

Heh! Love that...my sister's black cat, Spider, has the best purr ever. When he got run over by a car and his paw was flattened (complete with treadmarks) he was still purring and holding it out for us and the vet to sort it. The vet even commented on it. Hurt and still purring, convinced we'd make him better.

I read that they often will purr when they're sick or in pain. To this day scientists aren't sure how cats are able to purr - it's one of the great mysteries of the universe *g*

It's probably the same as when vampires purr. My mother's cat is now trying the usurp my place in the heirarchy...ie Mum, CAT, dog, me. Grrr.
