I just heard that Arthur C. Clarke passed away at age 90. He was the author of the short story that was turned into "2001: A Space Odyssey" plus countless other works. I've read most of his fiction and non-fiction books over the years including one of my favorites, The Nine-Billion Names of God. He was the last of the trio of great science fiction writers of the 20th century along with Isaac Asimov and Robert Heinlein and he will be missed. Requiescat in pace.
