Hollywood Star
Jul. 22nd, 2007 07:47 pmI read today that on Friday one of my favorite actors received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I've been a fan of Eric Braeden ever since he was Hans Gudegast playing Hauptmann Hans Dietrich, a man of honor caught on a side without any, on "The Rat Patrol". He came here from Germany many years ago and carved out a nice niche for himself playing both heroes and villains. He starred in the SF cult favorite "Colossus: The Forbin Project" (which is when he changed his name), played John Jacob Astor in "Titanic" and for the past 27 years he's been playing Victor Newman on "The Young and the Restless" which started out simply as a guest role but became something more as he made his presence felt (a bit like James Marsters on "BtVS"). I'm so pleased that Hollywood has officially acknowledged him as there are still remnants of xenophobia in Tinseltown.
