Just finished watching the Doctor Who Easter special "Planet of the Dead" (it's on YouTube). It was very special indeed - a wonderful action adventure ep with some nice special effects and a terrific cast of characters. I especially liked Lady Catherine de Souza and her backpack stuffed with so many handy items and Malcolm Taylor, the brilliant scientist attached to UNIT. I hope milady returns though it might be a bit awkward if she's paired with young Doctor #11. Tennant is certainly going out with a bang. Next up is "The Waters of Mars".

I loved the Easter Special. It was a romping good time, and before I watched that, I watched the Christmas Specdial which had been sitting on my computer since December.

Didn't realize how much I missed my Who, and while I enjoyed both episodes, it made me sad that we won't have DT for much longer.

I know. It went too fast. Did DT say why he's leaving? I'm sure it's to move on to other things...but dammit...I'm not ready for him to go.

He thinks after three years it's time to move on (read about it at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7698539.stm)

He was among the best of the Doctors (I still think my favorite is Tom Baker - he was my first *g*)

Thanks for the link to the article. I watched the video. I keep forgetting he's actually scottish. Man do I love the scottish accent and he's just so cute!!!!!!!

I wish him well. Living in the states, I'd never heard of the show until my friends list started talking about it when it started back up with Chris. That's when I started watching it. I like him well enough...but when DT joined at Ten...well then it became must see TV for me. I've downloaded all the avi files and they are on DVD. But I do want to eventually buy the actual DVDs for my collection.

In the late 70s the earlier Doctor Who eps began to be shown on various PBS stations which is when the show hooked me. It originally ran from 1963 until 1989 with a hiatus of 16 years (not counting a dreadful TV movie in 1996)and was finally resurrected in 2005. I found the first 2 Doctors rather unbearable to watch but once Jon Pertwee took the role he and the rest of the Doctors were rather enjoyable.

Actually I was wrong earlier - apparently Matt Smith is 26 while Michelle Ryan is only 24 so they might be good together (maybe she will become his companion?).
