[Error: unknown template qotd]Shakatany was Rolery's mother in Planet of Exile by Ursula LeGuin. I read it years ago and thought it a fantastic name because of the hidden "kat" within it (cat lover here). When it came time to choose a nom de courriel for me that was the name that came immediately to mind.
