I read in today's paper about a woman named Laura Mallory who wants to have the Harry Potter books yanked off of school library shelves because the books are "promoting the religion of Wicca" and that "they’re responsible for the recent spate of school shootings across the nation"!!! I've read the books and they are totally non-religious. There's no mention of a god or a goddess or Jesus Christ or even the devil/Satan/Lucifer. It teaches nothing about Wicca and in the witchcraft department (something quite different) it's in the same league as "Bewitched" or any fairy tale. As for the school shootings I'd rather blame the NRA that makes such weapons easy to acquire.

I came across this story of Buddy, a dog whose leg was broken and yet managed to get himself into an ER where workers took him to a vet. No one knows how he figured out to go to an ER but perhaps it has the same smells as a veterinarian's clinic and he thought he could be healed there. I once read a story where a dog, who got a snoutful of porcupine quills, was taken to a vet by his owner to have them removed. The next time it happened he went there by himself. I just love stories like these about fur persons *g*
